I've always recommended Mozilla's Developer Network (MDN) - https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/ It has alot of good resources and a wealth of information. As a seasoned web developer, this is still one of my go-to sites for documentation on web related stuff.

I think MDN can be a good reference when you want to find out details about something, but I don't think it's very helpful to newbies who don't even know what it is they're supposed to be learning.
