When I spoke about benefits on the GPU, I was speaking of the benefits of executing the compiler passes on the GPU, because with a Nanopass architecture, or really, the Micropass architecture I'm using here, each pass is simpler than the equivalent set of passes that do the same thing in a traditional compiler. This means that the passes are generally each simpler, and thus, easier to parallelize.
