The result of using shared libraries for absolutely everything is docker/snappy, which are both useful on a utilitarian level but also terrible.

Every docker has its own openssl version. Which means every openssl cve means updating every docker image. Awful.

It used to be you'd target RHEL X and be done for 10 years.
