I have a Mi TV. I created rules for everything it was randomly sending in my Pi-Hole. I don't use traditional TV so I have no experience with smart ads. Next to the common apps we make heavy use of Kodi, mostly to properly access all the TV channels online catalogues. I use alternative apps without ads whenever possible (Smarttube, some weird Twitch app I found on the store, ...)

The only thing i couldn't 'fix' yet are the extensive ads when using YouTube via cast.

Edit:// Samsung botching Android to something ugly with shit UX is nothing new. Really just avoid buying Samsung devices
