I hear what you're saying.
By worth, I didn't mean value - but I wasn't clear.
I think art has much value, but as a commodity in the marketplace, holds very little worth.
I agree that making quality art in one's spare time is challenging. I think this guarantees that the work being completed is a labor of love that the artist truly cares about.
In an ideal world, the best work would receive the greatest reward. Unfortunately, much of the best and most creative works are already coming from outside of the music industry. Before gaining recognition, these artists are essentially passionate hobbyists.
